Q: What’s your perspective on this perennial tension between creative ideas and technology; which comes first, the chicken or the egg?


There’s no definitive answer. Those who say it’s all about the idea, which then plugs into a media platform are absolutely correct. And those who argue that you have to be aware of the technology in order to ideate around it are right too. What we’ve seen at kbs with both a product development team that builds technology, and a creative team that lives and breathes ideas, is that both approaches work. We have great creative talent who put forth ideas that live, function and behave specifically within different media platforms. And we have other people who start with the technology and ask how we can leverage new functionalities for our clients. So there’s no “right” answer on this one.
